Summary
Seeking to reduce costs and increase performance in its construction operations, public works service provider Tayside Contracts sought help from the University of Dundee and associate Laura Dysart. Through a close working relationship, the KTP has succeeded in changing the mindset within the organisation, providing tangible commercial and operational benefits. The project has raised the profile of all partners, forging a strong continuing link between the university and Tayside Contracts. As testament to the project’s success, three local council customers and four major suppliers have embraced lean and continuous improvement approaches.
